We just couldn't watch her suffer anymore and knowing it would only get worse as time progressed, we made the decision to let her go. No, it is not an easy decision to make, but it was best for her.
Late in the afternoon, our oldest daughter and I took her to the vet. Even he agreed and assured us we did the right thing and waiting would only increase her suffering. He explained the procedure and we stayed with her until she had passed on.
It was over in a matter of a couple of minutes. Needless to say it broke our hearts. She had been part of the family for many years and is greatly missed. There is one consolation though; she is loved, healthy and happy now, and we will see her again!
John 16:22
22 Therefore you now have sorrow; but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you.
