Joining The Army

Well, son-in-law was without work. He applied, went back and forth, applied some more and could not find one. So, he decided to do, what he said he always had wanted to do: he applied for the Army and got accepted.

His basic training will start in June and after that, he will have 28 weeks of schooling, somewhere in Virginia. Yeah, that is long ways away from us. April does not know yet, if she can move to live on base, while Ray is attending school. In case she can, she and the boys will move up there as well.

Are we happy? No. Even though it may mean a well paid and steady income, there is a whole lot more to it, than that. We suspect, that after his school, he may be send abroad. That will leave April and the kids, three by then, completely on their own. I don't think, either one of them considered what all that means, or how it is going to affect their lives.

Yes, we fear. We should not. It may just be what they need to grow, take responsibility and be better persons for it. Only God knows and it is in His hands. That is a great comfort. There is no better place for it. :-)

Isaiah 41:13
For I, the LORD your God, will hold your right hand, Saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you.’

Yes, there is a whole lot more to it. Ray, April & the boys (+1) will be in our prayers - and so will special prayers for you and KC. I've had a lot of discussions with parents of adult children lately where it seems that fear for the present & future welfare of a child is a difficult emotion to surrender. Blessings and love...

Missy,
Thanks girl. Your prayers are highly appreciated.

It is true, it is very difficult to give it all to God. However, there is nothing we can do and nothing is required of us, at the moment. Maybe being supportive and encouraging??? Which is even more difficult, when we do not stand behind it.

We resort to prayers and having faith. God will show.
