Your Cup Of Tea

I enjoy a good cup of tea and the different fruity flavors have my preference. I was really pleased when I discovered that several cups of tea, green, black, white and oolong in specific, have a positive effect on my overall health; they are full of polyphenols.

The last have many health benefits and through studies have shown to protect cells from free radicals, prevent blood clots, lower cholesterol, decrease the risk for tumors and cancer, boost the immune system, and contain fluoride for stronger teeth. Needless to say tea has less caffeine then your average cup of coffee and hardly any calories.

Besides polyphenols, tea also provides us with antioxidants, theanine, vitamins, minerals and methylxanthines.

These are known to help in warding off colds and flu, slow down the aging process, decrease high blood pressure, prevent diabetes, arthritis, stroke and dementia, fight obesity, and improve the digestive system.

It is the green tea in particular which seems to have the most heart-healthy qualities, since it decreases the intensity of coronary heart disease and lessens clogging of the blood vessels to the heart.

Troubles of the heart are not just a physical occurrence; emotions can be at the root of them as well. Knowledge, wisdom, and sound reasoning can resolve those in a lot of cases and should those fall short then faith definitely will!

Psalm 90:12
So teach us to number our days, That we may gain a heart of wisdom.
