Man Proposes...

At the end of the month, our grandchildren will be moving much closer to us. The 16-hour one way drive will be cut down to 4 hours. That will allow us picking them up for weekend-stays and we are so looking forward to that.

We had been pondering for a while now on giving our grandchildren something which they can and will enjoy for many years to come. Since they love playing outside, we finally decided on a play-structure for in the backyard.

We found the perfect product and ordered it. It was going to be delivered by truck and yesterday we got a call from the truck-driver that he was close to our address and in need of some further instructions on getting here.

During that conversation, we found out that the 'truck' he drove was an 18-wheeler. Uh oh, he would run into problems turning into our driveway and after pointing that out, he was going to consult his dispatcher about what to do.

About two hours later, we called him back to find out what they had come up with. We understood they were going to ship it back to the manufacturer as being 'undeliverable'. Wow, wait a second; there ought to be more options then simply taking the easy way out.

We instantly contacted the manufacturer, but since it was after 5 pm, we wouldn't be hearing from them until today. At least that is our hope. We have a few solutions of our own, but let's see what their suggestions are.

It is highly exciting when a plan comes together, but it is equally as disappointing when it falls apart. Coming up with new solutions is not always easy. When we have done all we can do it may not even be up to us anymore, but if we don't then who will?

God will. At those times, it takes faith, hope, and prayers. Man proposes, God disposes and being in His capable hands it will work out for the best!

WOW! This is indeed very good news. Your grandchildren are staying nearer to you soon, Lieve Zus. So happy! :)

The play-structure will be delivered to you soon.

Audrey,
Yes, we are so grateful for them being so much closer.

The play-structure.... well, the delivery company was 'clueless', so we did our part and came up with a solution. God willing, it will be picked up from the warehouse on Thursday by our yardman, who is also more then willing to assemble it for us.

That would be great and in plenty of time. We are expecting to have our grandkids over for a week by the end of this month. They will be out of the way during the move, which is probably best for everyone. Us in particular! Grin.

God is so good! :-)
