Forward Motion

While driving home from the store yesterday, we passed up a house with Christmas lights in the yard. That in itself is not a strange phenomenon because many people still have them up, but the lights are usually not on anymore at this time of year. These lights were however and it was a weird sight.

I can imagine people don't bother taking down the lights, putting them away and digging them up again shortly after. Before you know it, it is the most wonderful time of the year again. Time slips through our hands like sand. Even now, looking at the wall clock, I wonder where all those hours went since I have been up.

The hands of the clock tick away precious moments of our lives and even stopping or reversing their forward motion makes no difference; time is relentless. If you don't believe me, just take a look in the mirror and ask yourself what happened to the face of that little girl or boy who used to stare back at you.

I realized yesterday that a few weeks from now I will be celebrating my 5th blogging anniversary. Yeah, time flies, especially when you are having fun and/or are passing it in the company of beloved family and friends! :-)
