Rain And Flooding

The last several days, we had torrential rainfall and it is said to continue throughout this week. Lots of homes and areas have already flooded and roads are closed off due to being under water or washed out, like a main road nearby our house.

It may take a while before all that water will reside, once the rain stops, but the damaging effects will be felt for a long time to come. It will take quite some effort to rid a home from water damage and when not done properly, hidden mold will eventually take its toll on the residents' health.

Our house is up on a hill and not in any danger of flooding, but we are starting to experience some of the consequences of all that water and soaked ground; the bugs are finding their way in and even though I can abide crickets and small beetles, there are some unwanted, pesky guests among them which I rather see leave then arrive.

I am quite sure we are not the only ones who are being invaded and although pesticides are tempting, it is not always possible to use them safely; it is not very pet and child- friendly. There are some good home remedies which work well and are safe to use to which I will get around soon.

For now, we hope and pray the rain will stop and no more damage will be done. May God encourage, sustain and comfort those who already are faced with the harm all the water has caused and help them through these trying times!

Psalm 34:6
This poor man cried out, and the LORD heard him, And saved him out of all his troubles.
