Coffee: Good or Bad??

No coffee???
I while back I did a research on health benefits of coffee and this picture reminded me to check whether any new developments had occurred since then or not.

On the positive side:
It is not so much the coffee, but the caffeine which has a positive effect on several diseases like type 2 diabetes, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, gout and colon cancer. It enhances the mood, treats headaches and can even lower the risk of cavities due to its anti-bacterial properties.

It also seems to be of help managing asthma and asthma attacks when medication is not around or when you are out. It also boosts athletic endurance and performance. Coffee is also full of antioxidants, contains magnesium and compounds called quinines which increases insulin sensitivity. According to studies, drinking 6 to more cups on a daily basis reduced the diabetes risk substantially.

But even when you only consume two cups then the risk of colon cancer is diminished by 25%, liver cirrhosis by 80% and gallstones by 50%.

On the negative side:
You have to find the limit of how much caffeine your body can handle. If it is more than it can tolerate then that can manifest itself by nervousness, hand trembling, and a rapid heartbeat.

For some people it can raise cholesterol levels and blood pressure, iron deficiency anemia, gastrointestinal problems, anxiety and sleep changes and increase artery clogging. The recommendation to pregnant women, heart patients and those at risk for osteoporosis is to either avoid or limit their java intake.

There you have it!
Caffeine does not necessarily have to come in the form of coffee, although the levels of caffeine in one cup are substantially higher then in a soda, tea or any other beverage. I suppose it boils down to finding the limit of your body's tolerance to the amount of caffeine you can consume to reap all the benefits.

As usual; everything in moderation and as usual there are exceptions to the rules. There is no such thing as moderation or limit on praising God and being thankful for all the abundant blessings, love and provisions He gives us each day!

Psalm 71:15
My mouth shall tell of Your righteousness And Your salvation all the day, For I do not know their limits.

Happy Easter to you as well!!

Yeah, I used to picture and intended to ask you if it was okay with you, but things got hectic around here and I totally forgot. Forgive me? If you don't want me to use it then I will take it off, no problem.
