Gastritis
I have heard from several people, who have tried everything and can't seem to loose weight, how they are thinking about having lap band surgery done.
It may prevent and can be of great help in a lot of health issues related to being overweight, but they may not be aware of the fact that it can cause gastritis; an inflammation of the lining of the stomach.
Surgery is not the only culprit when it comes to developing this condition; drinking too much alcohol, being on pain relievers for a long period of time, traumatic injuries and severe infection also can result in gastritis.
It is quite common to experience nausea, an ache or pain in your upper abdomen, vomiting, a loss of appetite, belching, bloating, a full feeling in your upper abdomen after a meal and/or weight loss.
When you suspect you have gastritis, it would be wise to see your doctor. He will ask you several questions and do some tests and when the diagnosis confirms the condition, you may have to take some medications.
In mild cases, over the counter antacids will already do the trick and when the disease is more serious, you may get a prescription for medication which either block stomach acid or shut down the acid pumps all together.
Either way, gastritis can be treated very well. Don't keep enduring it; you certainly don't have to!
