Some Tips To Relieve Stress

The Holiday season often tends to ad to the stress we normally would experience. We most certainly can do without any of it, but we may be under the false impression that there is nothing we can do about it.

I came across several tips for stress relief and thought they might be helpful or come in handy in time of need.

According to a study, vitamin C almost stops the release of stress hormones. You may want to drink two glasses of orange juice a day, or resort to a vitamin C supplement. This will also make you more resilient to a cold and the flu.

The telephone can be the culprit of a lot of stress. Taking a deep breath before picking up and answering gives you more confidence and diminishes the pressure. A suggestion is to put a colored dot on your phone as a reminder to take on this habit.

You may have heard that dog-owners live longer. Spending time with and around a pet seems to be a great stress reliever.

Caffeine is usually not very helpful when it comes to lowering stress, but a study has shown when drinking a cup of java in the company of several people, it will calm you down.

It would be best to avoid stress altogether and even though it may not seem feasible, it is; when we know we have done all we could and needed to do, we ought to let go and let God and when we don't know what to do; we should wait for His guidance and leadership!

Job 12:13
"With Him are wisdom and strength, He has counsel and understanding.
