A Stronger Immune System Part 2
Here are some more things you can do giving your immune system an extra boost:
A moderate exercise routine, like a 10-minute walk a few times daily, will result in speeding up antibodies and white blood cells going through the body. The benefits of this are that illnesses, intruding viruses, and bacteria are detected quicker.
Our doctors recommended taking extra vitamin D, because its level was too low. A deficiency could increase susceptibility to colds and the flu. A lot of people have a low vitamin D level and may not be aware of it. Ask your doctor to check it regularly and he will tell you when a supplement is needed.
Stress has a negative impact on the immune system. It apparently affects the white blood cells which fight of inflammations and other illnesses. Try to find a way of reducing stress which works for you.
Too much alcohol suppresses certain cells of your immune system and that could lead to all kinds of infections and diseases, some of which can be lethal. One glass a day is okay, but leave it at that, and make sure it doesn't trigger any bad side-effects with the medications you are taking. Again; consult your doctor first.
The immune system can benefit by the use of olive and canola oils during cooking. The healthy omega 3 fats improve flexibility and communication between the cells, but make sure not to consume too many omega-6 fats. These can be found in soybean oil and processed snack foods and present a higher risk for problems with your immune system.
You don't have to take my word for any of this. It would even be helpful doing some research yourself; you may find out some other things which could be beneficial to all of us.
One thing you should do though and that is taking God's word; it IS beneficial to all of us!
Proverbs 30:5
Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.
