Your Cup Of Tea And Health Risks

There are a few things you need to be aware of when drinking tea. Some you may already know, like the fact that tea contains caffeine and even though it is much less then what you would consume by drinking a cup of coffee, it is in there. You can avoid this by buying decaffeinated black and green tea.

Tea also contains a high amount of tannins, which can result in some minerals such as iron from being fully absorbed by the body and could lead to anemia. Adding some lemon to your tea will eliminate this risk due to the vitamin C, as well as not drinking tea during your meals.

For the majority of people tea presents no problems, but when you had kidney stones, or are likely to develop them, you may abstain from drinking tea since it is a source for oxalates. These natural organic acids can bind with calcium and result in kidney stones.

It is actually best to buy loose-leaved, organic tea. This takes chemicals, which some tea bags are made from and increase the risk of cancer, out of the equation. It also decreases the risk of buying tea which could contain pesticides.

Due to all the added sugars and other ingredients, it is best to abstain from ready made tea products which include iced tea, bottled, and canned tea; they have no healthy benefits.

I am glad and grateful God gives us plenty of blessings throughout the day. There are more then we may be aware of, but through seeking we will find and they always have a beneficial, healing effect! :-)

1.Psalm 68:19
Blessed be the Lord, Who daily loads us with benefits, The God of our salvation! Selah
