Road Map

Every journey begins with the first step. There are no guarantees it will be an easy one. Bumps will cause us to stumble and/or fall. Work ahead and detours will require our patience. Hidden pitfalls will drain our strength. Obstacles will test our wisdom. Closed roads will exhaust our perseverance and persistence. Appealing short-cuts will lead us astray. But most important...refusing to use the road-map will get us lost and drain our hope and faith.

I am always amazed to find scripture that applies to any situation that I encounter in life. I shouldn't be because The Bible teaches us of the Living Word and is written for our instruction. The road-map to life. So the journey continues with renewed hope, faith and love. With more persistence, perseverance and patience.

Proverbs 4:12-14
12 When you walk, your steps will not be hindered, And when you run, you will not stumble. 13 Take firm hold of instruction, do not let go; Keep her, for she is your life.

This scripture blesses me today. I have a project I'm trying to walk forward in but I'm feeling hindered. This feels like God's reminder that He will open the way before me as I am obedient. Please pray for me to be diligent and unafraid of this task.

Fear is a killer and often by fearing something we make it come true.

Sometimes blessings come in different ways. I am grateful this scripture helped you and I will pray for you.

Audrey:

Yep, and we couldn't be in better company!

God's Grace.

These are my thoughts, God's words to me through Isaiah, your post makes me think of. One of my favorite passages on the subject at hand:

28 Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The LORD is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.

29 He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.

30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;

31 but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

Isaiah 40:28-31

Grace & Peace,
Dee

Those of us who believe, know: there is no hope outside of God but we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.
The scriptures you quoted make that clear once more. Thank you:-)

Jayne:

I never knew either that came from The Bible untill I read it. I ended my previous post with that scripture, plus another one that I constantly have to remind myself of. I not only tend to lay the road-map aside but also to keep things I have to give to Him.

And about your question:"Who knew?"
I think you already know the answer to that:-)

Pia:

Good, for you get what you give and you constantly have and are giving encouragement. Thankful to be able to give some back:-)

Y'all are in my prayers.

God's Grace.

Thank you so much for those sweet uplifting words. I am thankful to God for using me, even if it only would encourage just one person, that in itself is a blessing to me:-)

Keep up the good work, girl.

thank you for these encouraging words. i love to look at life as a journey and your word picture is beautiful.
i like your comment about "appealing short-cuts". I tend to struggle there and find my "short-cuts" cause God's process to take much longer in my life. As you said on the 10th...Let Go and Let God. I too enjoyed that post greatly. On my "journey" it has been as if the flood gates opened and it all came at once.
Thx again Corry.

Thank you for the encouraging words.

Impatience is at the root of taking short-cuts. But they turn out to get us the total opposite. A short-cut turns out to be a huge detour and requires more work and patience then when we would have to have in the first place.

I pray your "journey" is turning out to be pleasant with many blessings:-)

God's Grace.
