Heed The Warning
I have had a cold before and it was gone within a few days, so I figured this one would too. Yeah right, that was wishful thinking. My rheumatologist warns me frequently to watch out for any signs of a cold and to try to prevent from getting one. And if I do get one, to go and see the doctor. Did this hardhead listen? Eh...no, she didn't.
"Hello, my name is Corry and I am a proudoholic."
"Hello, Corry!"
So here I am, with a bad case of bronchitis, totally out of breath in anything I do (even getting up and walking to the kitchen) and what could have been gone in a few days is now going to take much longer to get rid off.
I know it's not always possible to avoid a cold. Those little airborne critters can creep in anytime, and do, haha. The problem is that my RA medications make me much more vulnerable to the effects of a cold and therefore develop for the worst in a very short period of time. The meds undermine the immune-system. So please, if you take RA medication, or had the same warning from your doctor, don't do as I did and find out the hard way. Be wise and heed the warning.
When will I ever learn, sigh.
I think I just did:-)
Jeremiah 6:10
To whom shall I speak and give warning, That they may hear? Indeed their ear is uncircumcised, And they cannot give heed. Behold, the word of the LORD is a reproach to them; They have no delight in it.

I hope you feel better soon, bronchitis is pretty awful, sorry you've got it.
Oh, Corry! My family and I suffer with you unfortunately. It all started with Evan...I think I may end up posting about this one. The way a four year old cannot keep his boogie-rags to himself. Needless to say, we ALL have boogie-rags now.
I also know about having to really watch myself with a cold...when I was in the Army they gave me pennisillin (I know I botched the spelling, sorry) which I am allergic too. Ever since then, my immune system has been shot. I develop pneumonia at the drop of a boogie-rag. (Notice that I like the word boogie-rag?)
So, we are with you. Mind, spirit, and boogie-rag.
i will continue to pray for you. i pray that those meds your taking for your colds will work fast for your quick recovery. hang in there, mamu. God will take care of you.
This is a difficult lesson to learn, Corry. *sigh* I seem to still be learning it too. In my case, I was on the prednisone which makes me more susceptable. I came down with whooping cough and now my momma has it. *sigh* I went from the bronichitus to the asthma to whooping cough to flu and still have whooping cough and asthma. I do not want to get out of bed. At all. Ever. Well, not 'ever'. ;) Lol. But, I DO want to be able to breath!
I'll pray for you and your recovery. And that you truly have learned your lesson. May He meet you right where you are! :)
Pray for your speedy recovery Corry. Love ya!
We're praying for your and Casey speedy recovery too.
All thanks be to God for healing Casey's back.
Please take care.
God bless both of you with very good health and great strength.
Hope you feel better soon! Hot tea with honey and lemon fixes any problem I ever have... but I guess it can't be that easy for everyone, right? Well, I hope you find something that works for you!
I'm with you. I only consult a doctor when I'm in dire need or pregnant ;) Now that my rheumatologist is retired, I haven't even seen a rheumatologist in a long time. Naughty me!
I can empathize with you Corry, believe me. Tom took me to see the doctor this afternoon about my broken foot after five weeks and after 3 different x-rays he tells me it will be at least this long again, and then some, probably, before I can get out of the cast, off the crutches and off the scooter.
And I've been doing everything RIGHT from the very first signs of problems. So, what else can I do.
This is the second long term confinement in the last eight months! And this one is even much more complicated than the last one with my poor husband so fatigued and weary he can hardly get his clothes off at night to go to bed.
I understand how you feel. I really do. I don't understand. I really don't. I wish I did, but I don't.
I only wait. And try to reserve what little energy I've got the past two days for all the days to come.
May God richly bless you and Casey and heal you quickly. I pray it will be so.
Dearest Corry dear
How are you feeling today?
You're in my daily thoughts and prayers. Please take care.
Jesus loves you very much :)
I pray you are breathing more comfortabley today.
Keep yourself hydrated (that's the nurse in me, being bossy...)
oops, comfortably...
(i guess you could figure that out)
Father, please heal Corry. She is a great encourager and we need her. Give her strength, clear her lungs and keep her and her family safe. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
Dear Heavenly Father.
Please heal Corry dear. Strengthen her physically. She has been a great blessing to us. We miss her. We need her. Bless Corry Lord with very good health. May she be able to rest comfortably and have good appetite. We thank you Jesus.
In Jesus' most precious name, we pray. Amen!

Welcome to my site and thank you so much for your comment:-)
I trust God to bless and that the meds will have their effect soon.
M.C Pearson:
Aaww I am so sorry to hear and I pray y'all will be better soon.
Yes, you better be careful! My body has the same tendency to quickly turn a cold into a pneumonia. Fortunately it didn't get that far this time. I pray the boogie-rags will soon boogie their way out of our homes:-)
Pia:
Thanks girl, it took a few days for the meds to take effect but it seems they are working and I know all your prayers have as well:-)
And now we pray even more dilligent for you and Jec, that God may bless you with the visa!
Luv ya, girlie.
Claire:
I know you have been struggling with it for quite some time now and it concerns me. I pray you and your momma will be well soon!
I totally join you in the "sigh" part! Maybe we all learned something now, huh?:-)
God bless you and your momma and give a quick healing!
Kitty:
Thank you so much Kitty! We really appreciate it.

God bless you, girl.
Luv ya!!:-)
Audrey:
Thank you so much for all your prayers and your care and concerns.
I am doing a bit better. Still coughing like crazy every now and then and out of breath but the cough-attacks are getting less, although I am still very full of congestion. As for appetite...I don't have any, haha. I suspect the meds take away my appetite. I have to force myself to get a sandwich down. Some way to loose weight huh, haha.
I pray you and yours are doing well and thanks again:-)
Kristi:
Wow, I wish it was that easy! I am grateful it works for you but I pray you won't get it at all! So try to watch yourself girl:-)
I praise The Lord for doctors and meds!
Love you!:-)
Lenise:
Naughty, naughty!:-)
I do understand your apprehension for finding a new rheumatologist, but girl, you prolly ought to! Better safe then sorry, huh?:-)
I pray God will lead you in finding a good one.
Dee:
Gosh girl, sorry about that!
I know having RA, it takes much longer to heal but this really is very long! I don't think there is anything else you can do but pray. And I will pray for you too.
May God bless you and stretch His Healing Hands out to you!
Hang in there!
Seeker:
Thanks so much for the prayers!
And yes, Boss(grin) I will do so.

I am doing somewhat better but still quit out of breath at times. I know it takes time. But...every bit helps!!:-)
God's Grace.
Please take care Corry Dear.
Keep yourself warm.
Have a very good rest.
Hug! Hug!
Hope you are feeling better :).
Audrey and Kim:
Thank you both so much:-)
All I seem to do is sleep. The meds make me so drowsy. Each day is getting back to life a little bit more, for which we are so grateful. It's a slow process but there is progress:-)
God's Grace.
Corry, Hope by now you are feeling so much better, that you can have a near perfect week-end. Hang in there.
Pat:
Thanks, it's slow going but it's going, haha.
Have a great weekend as well!:-)
God's Grace.
