What Did You Say?

"I can't believe I ate the whole thing!"

Well, you did it! How often have we found ourselves totally flabbergasted when something turned out completely different than what we had intended? Even when we are told, we still have the tendency to reject it. We like to have evidence, something we can see or touch, like Thomas.

Words, written or spoken, demand our consideration. They are essential in life, for life and to have life. And at times we simply have to trust and have faith that what we hear without seeing is true.

A picture is worth a thousand words. But one word from God is worth more than a thousand pictures:-)
May God grant us the wisdom to not only hear but also listen to the words.

John 20:29
29 Jesus said to him, Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.

Corry, this is so TRUE! Sometimes we just have to take it on faith and I think that stems from Trust.

P.S. Yes! I'm getting married. Don't have a date yet because I must get a job first. I go for an interview for the Public Library Director's job tomorrow (Wed 12th). Pray I get it. There are so few job opportunities in this poverty stricken area and I have to stay here for my Mom.

Yes, and grant us the wisdom to know that hearing and listening are totally different.

May God grant us the ability to find to listen to Him. May we also be discerning enough to know when He is speaking to us through others.

Gina,
I am so happy for you!!!! Congrats girl. May God bless you both and your marriage.
And, relating to your comment on the post, I think you are right. One can not be without the other.

I have faith God will provide what's needed:-) I will remember you in my prayers.

Karen,
Yes, please! I have the suspicion that it's a matter of value whether we choose to hear or listen.

Patti,
Amen!
Wise words from a wise lady:-)

Oh yeah!
Wise words from another wise lady :)

It's so crucial to learn to listen.
Listening is so much more important than hearing.

Goedenacht, lieve zus!!!

I can't agree more Corry. I sometimes find myself experiencing things that are completely different than what I had intended, or expected. I really need to learn to listen to God's words more than human's.

Kitty,
Those situations are consequences of actions or words done and said, mostly by us, prior to those situations. To solve the problem is listening to God and considering in advance how it would/could affect everyone.
The consequences we have to bear but we can accept, admit and ask forgiveness from those it affected and we have to listen to them when they tell us how, what and why it affected them.
We all make mistakes, but we can learn from them and repent.

I am so thankful you are feeling better:-)
God bless you, girl.

Audrey,
Vrolijk (cheerful) Pasen (Easter) to you, lieve zus.
Can't help it, that is how it is said in Dutch. Let me add to it that I pray it's a blessed one as well:-)

God's Grace.

Corry,
You so rock! This is such a God thing to have this reminder right now, as I struggle witht the internal workings of the church. I need to constantly be redirected back to Him. However flawed we are, His word is perfection, and our ears need only to be turned to Him. The background noise I hear at church in the form of gossip or judgement has nothing to do with Him, or us for that matter, lest we the ones engaging in it.
May Godd Bless You as you keep blessing others!

Karyn,
Just this morning I was telling Kc, that I didn't think my non-RA posts would be edifying or helping anyone, but....that I couldn't know that. And here you are telling me this post "hit home"!:-)
Thanks Karyn, you so rock as well. It was just what I needed to be reminded off!!
Girl, I am so grateful and I hope it helps and that God may bless the church and everyone involved.

I stick to my motto:" If it only helps one person, then God has blessed!" :-)

God's Grace.

Corry, if you think your non-RA posts are not edifying or helping anyone, then I'm one of several here to prove you wrong!! You've been such a blessing to me. And this post was no different! =)

Kristi,
That's so sweet, thanks. I really was wondering about that because there is nothing in them that isn't already known or said, but then again, I considered I can not know how it may be helpful or encouraging to one of the readers. So, not to worry, I keep throwing them out there, hehe.

BTW I loved that poem you posted, that was absolutely beautiful!

God's Grace.
