Happy Occasions!

We have not been around much concerning blogging and visiting your blogs. Our apologies for that, but we had good reasons. Two very good reasons actually, that we would like to share with you :-)

July 29th, 2006:
Amber and Jason got married!

The initial plan was to get married in November, but that changed rapidly. Neither one of them wanted to wait that long and they decided to elope. Amber shared that with us, a week before the set date. So much for eloping, haha.

They were going to have a private beach-wedding. Just them, the minister and a photographer. And even though it was going to be private, there were a million things to do, arrange and to take care off and they could use all the help they could get. And God blessed!

Everything got done, it was a beautiful day and we were blessed with son-in-law no. 1.

Yes, you are reading that right...son-in-law no.1 because...

September 30th, 2006: April and Ray got married!

If you thought the first wedding-preparations were hectic, think again, haha.
Their initial plan was to have only a court-wedding. On second thoughts, April concluded she wanted to have a wedding-ceremony and asked us if they could have it in our backyard. Of course they could! We were thrilled. Well, that didn't give us a million things to do...but a billion! Talk about all the help you can get. But we did. God provided and gave us all we needed.

Amber and Jason were such a big help. We wouldn't have known what to do without them. Kc thought of all the things that could have been so easily overlooked and took care of the "Feed the inner-person-list", which freed me up to sew the wedding-dress in the remaining two days (Thank The Lord for twenty-something years of practice!). And God blessed again!

Everything got done, it was a beautiful day and we were blessed with son-in-law no. 2.

Our plate has been overflowing in between as well. Helping Amber and Jason move Amber's things, reorganizing the house, helping April and Ray find a house (which they did and hope to move in within the next couple of months) and sharing our home with friends, a young married couple, who suddenly found themselves without a place to stay.

But we are grateful. Grateful to be of help and grateful for our growing family (which reminds me...we need a larger dinner-table, haha). Grateful for all the blessings God has given us.

May God bless these two young newly-wed couples to grow in their love and in and with His love.

Matthew 19:6
So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.

Congratulations!! How wondeful!

We're past that stage and well into grandchildren, but I remember how happy those days were!

GOD bless the young couples in their new "together" lives. And God bless you in advising them as they go along and ask for advice.

Truly. Dee

Dee,
Thank you!
"2 down, 2 to go", so to speak, since we have 4 daughters.

And yes, may God bless us to be an example to them and guide us in advising them, but most of all, may they all grow in God's love and look for and to His guidance and leadership. :-)

I hope you are doing so much better, Dee.
Prayers for you both.

Audrey,
Thank you, lieve zus!
We hope to keep our family growing. Not just "blood-related", but family in Christ as well. But... aren't we all related through His blood?! :-D

Hugs and love!:-)

Jel,
Thank you, dear sister. I will pass it on:-)

Hugs and blessings to you and yours.

God's Grace.

GLORY! How wonderful!

May God pour out His blessings on the happy couples. May He be the SuperGlue in their marriages, holding them together through the tough times and the fun times. May He cover them with His wings and may He be the third cord that binds the two cords in an unbreakable rope. AMEN.

WOW!
We can see the wedding gown much more clearly now.
It's so lovely and beautiful.

The curtain is very fantastic too.

Audrey,
Thank you! :-)
I was mostly pleased with the little handmade roses on the dress, which you can't see on these pics.
And those curtains are nothing but long pieces of fabric drapped around a curtain-rod (Thanks to watching various do-it-yourself-shows, hehe). Praise The Lord for creativity!

Have a wonderful blessed day, lieve zus.

God's Grace.
