Taking a Day Trip

Posted by Heriberto Fuentes

Day trips are great ways to get out of town for a day and renew the spirit. It could be with family or friends but any day trip is like taking a mini-vacation away from work and everyday life. We all need to play and when summer comes that is the time to let our hair down and have some fun. The last thing you should do before taking a day trip is to set your ADT home alarm system before leaving the house.

One of the great day trips my family enjoys is driving out to Barr Lake. Barr Lake is unique from other lakes in that it lies not in the mountains but on the prairie east of Denver. From our house it is a ninety minute drive to the lake. This is not a swimming lake. There is no swimming or boating allowed in the lake. This is purely a lake to enjoy for its uniqueness of nature. There are an abundance of fish in the lake but fishing also is not allowed. Barr Lake is a place to bask in the beauty of nature and enjoy a day of hiking animal and bird watching. Bird watchers go to Barr Lake to photograph the many varieties of birds indigenous to the prairie.

Barr Lake is a tranquil escape from the city and a great family adventure for a day.
