Hospital
Kc has been in the hospital almost all week. Last Monday we called the ambulance; his legs were so swollen that some of his toe nails were turning blue. He was constantly out of breath which we contributed to anxiety and was not feeling well at all in general.
Once in the hospital, after running all kinds of tests, he was diagnosed with severe COPD. This lung disease apparently had been developing over the course of many years, but gone unnoticed. The oxygen level in his blood had decreased to 50% and his heart had to work harder which caused it to enlarge.
The retained fluid was due to poor circulation caused by all this and had not only built up in his legs, but in his stomach as well. The combination of all this had left his heart weak and heart failure could have occurred at any moment.
Right now, Kc is back home and even though he is on oxygen and lots of medications, the doctors are pretty sure he will get back to full function. It will take some time, but that is okay. We hope he will get off the oxygen after a while; we will pray, wait and see. All will happen in accordance with God's will.
One of Kc's slogans is: God is good and I am a fool, but God takes care of His fools. God sure did. We were blessed by God watching over Kc, having gone to the hospital when we did and for the hopeful outcome.
Even though he will never regain full long capacity again, he will still be able to live life to the fullest. Praise and glory be to God; where would we be without Him?!!
Proverbs 10:22
The blessing of the LORD makes one rich, And He adds no sorrow with it.
