Cleaning Tips

Even though my blog is mainly focused on Arthritis and health topics, every now and then I come a cross some other information or tips which I consider to be helpful.

Especially nowadays, when going green is on top of almost everyone's list, I wouldn't want to withhold how we can make our own cleaners which are not only cheaper, but non toxic as well.

A good window cleaner is quickly made by mixing equal parts of white vinegar and water. You can use it in a spray bottle and it is great for cleaning windows. mirrors, tiles and other shiny surfaces. The vinegar, which is disinfectant and deodorizing, takes care of the calcium deposits left by water.

A wood cleaner is made from mixing equal parts of water and vinegar and by adding a few drops of olive oil. If you don't like the smell you can even add a few drops of essential oils for a nice smell.

If the above doesn't do the trick, you can add a small amount of nontoxic dish soap to the mixture.

We like our houses to be clean and fresh and invest much of our time in achieving that, but we should not forget to clean up our own act as well and God is more then happy and willing to lend His helping Hand!

Psalm 51:10
Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.
