A Sad Week

Last week was one of those weeks when everything seems to come all at once. Within just a matter of days, we had so much sad news that it was hard to comprehend and it seemed almost unreal.

First we got the news that one of my husband's friends had passed away. A couple of days later our son in law died unexpectedly. That same day we heard of the departure of two more persons who were close to our hearts, followed by another one the day after.

Even though we all know this earthly life will come to an end, it is always sad for those who are left behind and have to go on without their loved ones.

There is great consolation in the knowledge though that when the departed were believers, they are in the most wonderful, happy place they can be; they are home.

That knowledge doesn't take away the pain of missing them, but there is a lot of comfort in the anticipation that one day we will see them again and be reunited. It will all happen in God's appointed time!

John 14:2
In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
