Bitter-Sweet

I hope you had a wonderful and very blessed Christmas. Ours was bitter-sweet so to speak. Sweet and blessed, because our grandchildren were staying with us this week and we were able to share the entire Christmas with them and 'bitter', due to the knowledge that they were about to go live with their father all the way up in Kansas.

The divorce between our daughter and now ex-son in law became final this month and, beyond everyone's expectation, full custody was given to our grandchildren's dad. He decided to take all three of them to live with him and since it is a sixteen to seventeen hour non-stop drive we will not be able to see them very often anymore.

Even though our oldest grandson is almost turning five years old, he got a real phone for Christmas which allows both him and us to stay in touch and contact each other when the need arises. At least that is a comfort, but it doesn't ease the pain of missing them and not being able to see and have them over that much.

They made the trip to Kansas and arrived safe and sound. We are grateful for that and have faith God will comfort and strengthen all involved and give everyone what is needed, when it is needed!

Matthew 11:28
"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."

May I suggest skype. Ask your son in law to download it and install it (free of course) and you do the same. You can then skype with your grandchildren. You see each other over the computer. I read stories to my grandbaby this way and to my great nieces and nephews. It is not as good as in person but the best one can get and better then the phone as you can see them.

Deb,
Yes, our son in law mentioned he had discussed setting up Skype with the other grandma. We just are not sure whether he is going to. Hopefully, he will.

God's Grace.

(((HUGS))) Lieve Zus! Oh... the pain of separation. The worries of not knowing if the 3 young kids are coping well with the other grandma. The anxiety of the 3 young kids in new surroundings and environment. We must really trust our Lord to protect them every second of the day and night. Oh Lord! Please have mercy! Thank you, Lord! Amen! (((HUGS)))

Audrey,
Their other grandma is not with them, she is in our area. The kids are with their dad and his girlfriend. So far, they seem to be doing well, but little Kc already asked ' how long we are coming to take him', as he phrased it.

Yeah, that tugs at our hearts, since we are in no position to drive up there and get him whenever he desires. Sigh.

God knows all about it though! :-)

(((HUGS)))

God's Grace.
