The Escape Artist

After having that soccer ball sized cancer tumor removed from our dog's tummy, she has returned to her old tricks. We are actually glad for that, because it is a good indicator that she is doing well and the vet probably got all the cancer out, but it also means more headaches for us.

We had already tied the entrance of our fence shut, since she found ways to push it open and run off. Since everything was taken out, including her baby pouch, we expected her to stay within the fence. Nope, as soon as the rope came off, she was gone. No problem, we tied it up again.

That worked for a couple of days and then she found another space where she could and did crawl under the fence. No problem, we had all those blocked with rebar and turned our yard into a mini prison.

After having done so, it didn't last but a couple of hours when we heard her at the front door. Yup, the escape artist found another way to leave the safety of the yard and we haven't figured out yet where that is and how to fix it.

Until we do, we got her tied up for a change. She doesn't like it and neither do we, but for the moment it is the best solution to keep her from being harmed or getting lost.

We may not be aware of it yet, but we are tied up too; bound by sin. We are blessed though having been given the solution to cut the 'ropes' and fully enjoy the freedom and reward that come with it!

Romans 6:22
But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life.
