The Sound Of Music

There is not one person who doesn't enjoy listening to music. We may not all have the same genre in common and the preferences of one may send shivers down the spine of the other, but no matter what music you like it is mentally and physically health and possibly even healing.

Research has focused on the effects of music on our health and wellbeing and came to the conclusion that it has positive physiological effects. Studies showed that people who were about to have surgery and listened to music prior to it were less anxious compared to those who were given anti-anxiety medication.

Another finding was that listening to music boosts your immune system. Researchers have found evidence that it has a very beneficial effect on the antibody immunoglobin A, which is responsible for the levels of germ and bacteria fighting cells. Lending an ear to music increases those levels.

The studies continue as to what other benefits music may have and how the effects can be put to good use when it comes to treating brain injuries, diseases, and other conditions. I am all for it; it is a cheap, enjoyable solution without the side effects of all the chemically fabricated medications.

Music may have a soothing and calming influence on us, but it is nothing compared to all the wonderful influences God has in our lives. He does not only make a huge, positive difference; He is the difference!
