What Are You Bringing To The Table?
I wasn't aware of the fact that garlic, onions, ginger, peppers, celery, and carrots were classified under the category of aromatics. When thinking about it, it makes sense, because their specific taste and aroma are excellent for adding flavor to and spicing up any dish.
These aromatics have more qualities then just creating savory meals. They have great health benefits as well and some I have already brought to your attention in previous posts. It doesn't hurt to refresh your memory, because if you are as busy as I am, you may have forgotten.
Garlic for instance boosts your immune system, fights cancer, and prevents plaque from building up in your arteries. Ginger is an excellent antioxidant and a great solution for getting rid of nausea. Peppers are full of potassium, Vitamin A and C, and lower blood pressure. They also bring relief when you have the bloats.
Carrots are rich in fiber and also provide potassium, vitamins C and B. They too increase your immune system, but also aid in the prevention of certain conditions which occur which age. Of course almost everyone already knew they are good for your eyes.
Celery possesses anti-inflammatory properties that are heart-healthy, provides vitamins A, C, K, and potassium. It is a tasty snack as well, which is low in calories and that ranks it among the favorite of those who are determined to loose weight.
It is best to buy and use aromatics as fresh as possible. The flavor of the frozen kinds is often less due to the fact that they contain more water, but freezing shouldn't have any negative effects on their health benefits. That is it in a nut shell. So, don't hesitate to bring some aromatics to the table every day.
It is also a good idea to read the Bible on a daily basis. This food for the soul has many more health properties and benefits than all of our earthly food combined!
Psalm 73:26
My flesh and my heart fail; But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
