Diabetes Causes And Prevention

Many diseases can lead to some severe complications and Diabetes is momentarily one of the leading conditions to cause kidney failure, amputations, blindness, cardiovascular disease, nerve damage, and an increased risk for Alzheimer's disease.

The question would be; what causes Diabetes and what can preventative measures can we take? It all boils down to three culprits and yes, there are some risk factors we can eliminate to lower the chances of falling victim to this disease.

The first one is genetically determined and there is nothing we can do about that. Fortunately, there are some really good treatments and options at hand these days to make life a little easier for Diabetes patients.

We can however do something about obesity and smoking. A good, healthy diet and exercise will prevent obesity which is closely related to the development of diabetes. Statistics have shown that 80% of the people who are suffering from obesity tend to become diabetic.

Studies have also shown that smoking and diabetes are closely related. We already were aware of all the health risks smoking will bring about, but did you know that the more you smoke, the higher the risks of getting diabetes are?

Knowing the risk factors makes it easier to cut them out of our lives. It does mean that you have got to heed the warnings though, but that too is nothing you weren't aware of yet. God has plenty of warnings which you most certainly shouldn't overlook.

They will save your life!

Ezekiel 33:5
He heard the sound of the trumpet, but did not take warning; his blood shall be upon himself. But he who takes warning will save his life.
