Laugh Your Immune System Strong

The cold and flu which are going around this year are pretty nasty. Not only do their effects linger for various weeks before they are entirely out of your system, but they are also the culprit of having caused several deaths.

The flu shot may not have covered this particular strand seeing how one of our daughters had gotten the shot and a few weeks later still came down with the flu. I also heard how many who suffered from a cold or the flu ended up with either Bronchitis or pneumonia.

The latter can have a devastating effect on the elderly and those who already have a weak immune system. There are several different ways to boost your immune system and I suspect we all know that a good diet, exercise, vitamins and supplements, are among the options.

Reducing stress is another one. Did you know that laughing and strong relationships are also excellent immune system boosters? No kidding. Studies have shown that people who have and feel connected to others are more prone to ward off infections than those who are lonely.

Laughing releases good endorphins into your system which reduces stress. Even just the anticipation of a funny event or situation has been shown to be a stress-reducer. What does that tell you? Yes; a laugh a day keeps the doctor away.

We tend to fret and worry too much about all kinds of things. We often anticipate the worst and try to be prepared for that, but wouldn't it take a load off our shoulders to leave it in the more than capable hands of God?

Let's enjoy His blessings and find our laugh for today. Even better: let's make someone laugh today!

Matthew 6:34
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
