Don't Shop Till You Drop! Shopping Tips

We all have to eat and even though we would love holding off until it no longer can be avoided, a trip to the grocery store is in order at some point. I never looked forward to that, because of the pain, but there are some tips and tricks that are very helpful and make shopping less of a chore.

- Good shoes make a world of difference. For me those are tennis shoes with good inlays and a little wider at the nose, so that my toes are not being pressed together.

- My rheumatologist constantly warns me about Raynaud's syndrome. This means I have to avoid sudden changes in temperature as much as possible. A pair of gloves can help when you need to be in the freezer or refrigerated section of the store.

- Shop economical. Usually, you have a favorite store where you get your groceries and you know the lay-out. Save yourself some extra walking by writing down your list starting with the items in the back of the store and working your way to the front.

- It is very frustrating when something you need is stored up high or very low. There are several things to solve that problem; take someone with you to help doing the shopping, ask for help from someone in the store or bring a reacher. I would suggest the last, since there may not always be someone around to help out, plus you can always use them at home as well.

Pride and fear of rejection often prevent us from asking for what we need and it is not helpful at all; it actually makes life more difficult. Many people are grateful for the opportunity to lend a helping hand, but they can not read your mind. Therefore, don't hesitate to ask for what you need.

When confronted with problems, trials and difficult situations, God is always there to lend His helping hand. All we have to do is ask!

John 16:23
"And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you.
