The Early Bird
Every tip can be a helpful one when you need to shed some pounds. Every pound you loose definitely will be helpful, because it can prevent all kinds of health related conditions in the future and is easier on your joints.
A good and simple tip is using your fork in the hand you normally don't eat with. It may not be an easy task, but that is the whole point; you will probably end up eating less and are more conscious about what you consume.
Smaller plates often equate in smaller portions, but the best thing to keep in mind is that the main meal should consist of a quarter of meat, a quarter of whole grains, and half of what you eat should be fruits and veggies. The last are not only very healthy, but often low in calories.
The following tip may seem rather controversial, but studies have shown that even though the early bird catches the worm and fills its stomach, that same early bird digests fewer calories and eats healthier during the day then those who sleep in and wake up late.
That doesn't mean you need to get up at 3 or 4 o'clock in the morning; that pretty much defeats the purpose, because studies also have shown this leads to weight gain. The recommendation is to get up around 7 or 8 in the morning, after a good 7 hour sleep.
That last may not always be feasable due to problems and trials which are plagueing us and robbing us of our sleep, but sometimes we have to give them over to God. He can and will take a mess and turn it into gold!
Jeremiah 29:11-13
"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart."
