Live Longer With A High Fiber Diet

We have probably all heard that fiber is good for the digestive system, but it has more health benefits then just keeping you 'on track' so to speak. Don't get me wrong though, that last is very important because regularity prevents chronic constipation which could lead to a very painful and incurable condition called diverticulosis.

A diet which is high in fiber includes artichokes, broccoli, peppers, carrots, apples, pears, kiwis, and many other foods. Simply check the nutrition labels and keep in mind to consume the daily recommended fiber intake which is 25-30g for women and 35g for men.

Studies have shown that fiber also possesses qualities which help lowering cholesterol and hence decreases the risk of heart disease. It also is a great aid in reducing the risks of several types of cancer and since fiber regulates the blood sugar levels, it diminishes the possibility for diabetes.

Incorporate enough fiber in your diet and don't worry about the calories, because fiber is a great assistant when it comes to loosing weight. If none of the above reasons are enough to prod you to consume more fiber, then maybe this knowledge will; the same study has shown that those who consumed high amounts of fiber live longer.

No amount of fiber will give you eternal life though, but God will. Why not center your life on and around Him? You will find yourself in the best of hands!

John 10:28-30
And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. I and My Father are one."
