The Survival Guide For Obamacare
I was wondering if you had already noticed any differences in healthcare costs due to the Affordable Care Act, also referred to as 'Obamacare'. This healthcare reform plan is supposed to go in full effect this coming fall, but there seems to be quite some confusion and controversy about what the costs really are and who might be paying for it.
The plan is supposed to give coverage to those who can't afford any healthcare at present. The way to assure this is to require businesses with over 50 employees to provide health insurance or pay fines and to offer those who can't get insurance through a job healthcare which they can buy based on income and affordability.
That is where my confusion sets in. If you couldn't afford any health insurance before then you can't afford it under Obamacare either. Sure, it makes a huge difference whether you would have to pay $300 or $40 a month for health insurance, but even the latter is quite an amount if you don't have a job or make minimum wages or less.
Another thing that bugs me is that small businesses will have more expenses due to being mandated to offer their workers coverage. This means either less profit for them which eventually could put them out of business, or they have to raise the prices of their products or services substantially.
Last but not least, where is all the money coming from for the subsidies the government plans on giving? They are already facing an exorbitant debt, but the money has to come from somewhere. Expectations are that taxes will increase and/or prices of goods and services will go up.
There is an Obamacare survival guide available which is supposed to help you understand and find out what all is covered under this new healthcare reform plan. I don't like the sound of that. If you need a guide to survive, you can safely assume the possibility of running into dangerous situations is likely.
No one really knows how all this is going to shake out. We will have to wait, see, and pray it will all turn out for the best. Whether it does or doesn't, God knows all about it and will see to our needs. His provisions only require faith, are free, and available to anyone!
