Go Nuts

You can never punish me by serving nuts, because I love almost any kind. The only ones I came across which I am not too crazy about are the pistachios, but that is all a matter of taste.

Not too long ago these tasty treats were on the taboo list. It was believed they contained too much fat.

They do, but it turned out to be the good kind of fat and that changed everything. Nuts are now labeled as extremely healthy.

It is recommended to consume a handful (about 1 ounce) daily since they are packed with anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals, proteins and fiber.

They lower the risk of heart disease, decrease diabetes and inflammation, increase the health of the lining of arteries, and have a positive effect on brain, weight, and immune system.

As long as you stick to the recommended daily amount, you are literally and figuratively speaking in good shape. Excessive consumption is not beneficial; it will result in you packing on the pounds, because nuts are also high in calories.

In case you are not very keen on nuts, you can resort to different kinds of seeds such as flax, pumpkin, and sunflower seeds for instance. They have the same healthy benefits as nuts. Just make sure that both nuts and seeds are unsalted and free of any oils.

No matter how healthy we are physically, it doesn't do much good when we are spiritually in a bad shape. It would be wise taking in our daily dose of God's word and you are not limited to a certain amount either.

You can never get enough!

Proverbs 4:22
For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.
