A Request

First an update. The x-rays taken from my back were not good. They called me to let me know that between the discs in my lower back there is, what I call, "decay" going on, haha. Yeah, I laugh about it, besides praying I don't know what else to do:-) There is a MRI scheduled for tomorrow and a bone-density test for the end of August. They couldn't tell me yet whether it was RA or something else. I am concerned, not for myself, for I know God will give me what I need or open another door, but for my loved ones. It is another burden for them. One I know they will carry with and out of love. I can not express in words the depth of my gratitude to and for them. I pray God will reward them as greatly as He blessed me, being loved so very much, and strengthen me in my efforts to be as great a blessing and support to them, as they are for me.

I know there are many trials of faith along the way of life. It is tested every moment, sometimes by little things and sometimes by things that seem/are life-altering, things we can control and things that are out of our control. The question always arises: " Why?". Let's face it, we do not always know why and we may never get to know. God does, He has the answer. And He gave us the solution: have faith and trust Him!

I have a request to y'all, a prayer request. Good friends of ours, a young couple, are about to head out to do God's work on the mission field. They are facing some major difficulties in their attempt to do so. I would like to ask you to pray for them. God hears every one of them and can turn this mess into gold. Thank you so much, your prayers are greatly appreciated:-)

I know many of you can use some prayers as well. I would like you to know you are remembered in mine:-)

1 Peter 1:6-7
6 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, 7 that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,

Corry, you are an inspiring person. God bless and keep you and your mission friends. I pray that His glory will shine in you as He promises those who delight in Him will be given the desires of their heart. His word never returns void. Amen.

My mother-in-law had RA, so I know the agony that it can be. It is so strange how some days it makes itself felt like the sharp claws of a cat then the claws are retracted other days. I have gout and arthritis and some mornings... well, some mornings I pray a little harder than other mornings. I will put a link to your site on my blog, too, 'k?

I know exactly what you mean. Sometimes I think God must get weary of my groaning and moaning haha. But He is always there and that in itself is a great comfort.

I am honored if you link to my site. Thank you very much:-)

God's Grace.

Many prayers for everything to turn out well, or at least OK. Prayers as well for your friends - my wife and I (before we got married) took one mission trip together - maybe I'll write about it one day :-)

Blessings & Peace,
Hugo

Corry, there's a sweet lady at my church with RA who had to have back surgery a few years ago. She is probably about your age. If you'd be interested in getting in touch with her, let me know. I'm going to e-mail this address to her in the meantime.

Was that Dutch? Too cool!!

Thank you so much, yes I would love to:-)

And yes that was Dutch. In case you wondered what it meant and didn't have a suspicion already:-), Kc said: I love you,
and my reply was: I love you too, very much. End of Dutch lesson for today haha.

Thanks again Lenise:-)

It was actually the ontzettend veel that clued me in to what it meant. Viel being the German for much, and my having been a German major and all!

Ok, on Kc's suggestion, you having a German major and all, haha: Er suggerierte ich solte Sie ins Deutsch antworten. Sie hatten recht, "viel" gleicht das Hollandische "veel". Ein sehr guter Observierung! Hoffentlich habe ich mein Deutsch nicht verlernt haha.

I had German as a subject and passed it as well, along with english. Never thought I would use it in the states though, haha. I grew up with it as well, we watched alot of German television and the dialect spoken in my neck of the woods resembled German very much. We lived about an hour away from Germany. So actually almost everybody where I lived could speak and certainly understand some German:-)

corry, sickness is not the will of God for us. i believe in miracles. Jesus said that by His stripes, we are healed. claim it. have faith. He can give you the healing that you need. i am declaring my healing everyday. i know God hears me and i believe that my miracle is on its way. don't claim that sickness. rebuke it in Jesus' name.

i'll be praying for you.

Thank you. Your faith is encouraging and inspiring:-)

Miracles and sickness can both be used to glorify God. I don't know His purpose for me yet in my sickness, but if my sickness is a testimony to others, then I am grateful. I submit to His Will and try to use it as He sees fit, in His glory and honor.

I pray His will for you is that miracle. I do know though that whatever is needed, He will provide:-)
