When Pumpkin Carving Is A Problem

Even with my RA, I would be able to carve a pumpkin, but I already know I would pay for it for several days; my fingers and hands would be extremely stiff and painful. I know there are more people who are either in the same position as I am, or are not able to carve even the smallest hole in the pumpkin.

Relax, you don't have to do without a decorated pumpkin! Sure, you have the option of asking someone to carve a couple of pumpkins for you, but you can easily decorate a pumpkin without having to use much strength or effort. You don't even have to take a knife to it.

A good alternative is buying one of the many pumpkin decorating kits. All you do is push the different items in the desired place on the pumpkin. We have one of those kits and even though it is much easier and quicker then carving the thing, it still requires quite some strength.

Pre-drilling the holes before pushing the accessories in the pumpkin is an option, but another real simple solution is painting the pumpkin. I personally like that so much better; It doesn't require much strength and even the children can participate and decorate their own pumpkin.

I suppose that water based latex, acrylic paint, child friendly finger paint, or spray paint, would work well and result in a very unique, Halloween decoration!

There is a solution to everything; all you need to do is look for the open door. When you don't see one, then don't worry; God is in control and it will all happen and be made clear in His perfect time!

1 Peter 5:6
Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time,
