Benefits of Chocolate

Chocolate and tea; this combination is supposed to be a mood enhancer and, being the chocolate lover I am, I can fully understand why. The rich, creamy, full flavor of this sweet substance melting in your mouth is already enough to lift the spirit. I haven't found out yet where the tea comes in, but I will.

The same goes for eating chocolate as it does for everything else; too much is not good for your health, but a couple of dark chocolates per day, might increase your overall physical well being. Dark chocolate has several health benefits: it is rich in antioxidants and therefore heart healthy and it can lower mild high blood pressure.

That does leave us with the issue of weight gain, because chocolate is also a calorie rich treat. It may be wise to substitute another snack for dark chocolate to balance out the calories, or get a little more active to burn the extra calorie intake.

The latter would probably be the best solution. It would be killing two, make that three birds with one stone; you get in a better mood, keep your blood pressure in check and get some extra exercise. All that sounds good to me.

I hope you will excuse me. I suddenly have a chocolate craving. :-)

Audrey,
Shhhhh, not so loud; our grandsons love them too, but they bounce of the wall if they eat too many. Grin.

(((HUGS)))
God's Grace.
