Warding Off The Flu

The sooner you can get your flu shot the better. It still doesn't mean you are scot-free, because there might be a strain of flu virus going around that is not covered by the shot.

In case you are susceptible to and/or want to prevent catching it then consuming the following foods are helpful in warding of the flu, or easing the symptoms.

I haven't met anyone yet who doesn't like to munch on a snack in between meals. Most snacks are not very healthy, but there are some which are not only very tasty, but also pull their weight where it concerns boosting your health without adding the unwanted pounds to your weight.

Nuts, Brazil nuts and almonds in particular, are good foods for boosting your immune system. The first contain selenium which is an antioxidant and the last are rich in vitamin E.

Red bell peppers contain more vitamin C then an orange and provide fluids at the same time. Try munching on one between meals; it is refreshing, prevents flu, colds, and dehydration, and low in calories.

Dark Chocolate may not be your first choice calorie-wise, but it has many health benefits and fighting off the flu is just one of them due to its immune boosting qualities. It doesn't have to be a snack; it also makes for some delicious desserts.

You have to keep in mind though eating the last in moderation, but that may be a daunting task. When it presents problems, you may want to resort to another healthier snack and forego the dark chocolate all together, since consuming too much can lead to weight gain and all kinds of health problems which come with it.

Living according to God's word and will may not be an easy task to do. When it presents problems, you need to resort to prayer; God is always there to help and will give you what you need!

2 Corinthians 9:8
And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.
