Glowing With Excitement

I am rather stiff and a little sore this morning. That is not surprisingly and I should have expected that, but I didn't. My achy bones and stiff muscles are a grim reminder of the fact that even though I feel young at heart, I am much older then that. Grin.

Our three grandchildren are spending most of their summer vacation here and they sure know how to keep us busy. We truly enjoy their presence, comments, and get a kick out of watching them play. I can't help it, but they bring out the kid in me and I often partake in, and at times even instigate the entertainment.

That does come with a price, but being tired, sore and stiff are well worth the reward. I can't tell you how endearing it is seeing those little faces glow with excitement when we sit down on the floor by the doll house and enter the realm of imagination.

We take our cars for rides, have them break down and towed to the mechanic, hold parties attended by super heroes and dinosaurs, chase away monsters, and so much more. It is true; those little ones do keep you young, even though it is just at heart.

The realm of imagination doesn't stretch far enough to comprehend that the great love we have for those little ones is nothing compared to the love God has for us. Just that knowledge is more enough to make any face glow with excitement!

Ephesians 3:19
19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
