Giving Thanks

I hope all of you had a really Happy Thanksgiving. Ours turned out to have some pleasant, unexpected blessings; our grandchildren were over for a visit. They were not present for dinner, but arrived in the evening, spent the night and most of the next day at our house, and went back to stay with their mom until Sunday when they returned home.

They still shared in the abundance God has blessed us with, since I had so much left over from Thanksgiving dinner. They truly enjoyed it and I sometimes wonder how those little stomachs can hold so much food, but they do. Grin.

We decided to set up the Christmas tree. Our tradition is to do this with the family but it hardly happens these days that all of them are able to attend this occasion. Since most of the family was together on Friday, it was the perfect opportunity.

The kids were excited to help out and had lots of fun. In spite of them being very careful, one Christmas ornament will not see another Holiday, but that was no big deal. We sang Christmas carols while decorating the tree and they told us what all would go on their wish-list intended for Santa Claus.

It is not going to be long anymore before they are enlightened as far as Santa is concerned. They sure do know the true reason of the season and we hope and pray their faith will only increase as they grow older.

We will do all we can to show and teach them that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life!

1 John 3:7
Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous.
