A Place To Call Home

Our sweet dog Flo managed to pull down the window box, hanging on our storage building, on several occasions. It is filled with artificial plants, but it looked gorgeous and gave the building a little pizzazz. She may have liked it too, tried to gather up a bouquet, and ended up scattering it all over the yard.

I managed to save much of it and it still looks very pretty. I am apparently not the only one who thinks so. About two weeks ago, I noticed a couple of tiny birds flying to and fro the planter. Thinking they were picking nesting materials out of it, I went to investigate.

Low and behold; they were not taking nesting materials out, but bringing it in and their abode was slowly but surely taking shape.

I decided to keep an eye on it, in case our dog had the urge to satisfy her curiosity. Flo didn't mess with it and a couple of days ago we discovered at least two, possibly three eggs in it.

When you click on the picture, you will get a better look at the future offspring this little couple is about to bring up.

Wondering what birds had picked our window box as their residence, I scoured the Internet and found out they were House Wrens.

Another pair of birds started building a nest in the wreath of our front door. After it opened, they understood that was not the best place to settle down.

They left to find another spot they could call home and I am sure they will have no problems with that.

God provides all they need, just like He does for us!

Matthew 6:26
Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
