In Love And Hate part II

I found these verses very helpful to me concerning love, hate and what to do.

Mark 12:31
And the second, like it, is this: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these.

1 John 4:7-8
7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

1 John 3:10
In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother.

1 John 3:15
15 Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.

1 John 4:20-21
20 If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? 21 And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also.

1 Thessalonians 5:14-15
14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn those who are unruly, comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all. 15 See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all.

1 Timothy 6:3-5
3 If anyone teaches otherwise and does not consent to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which accords with godliness, 4 he is proud, knowing nothing, but is obsessed with disputes and arguments over words, from which come envy, strife, reviling, evil suspicions, 5 useless wranglings of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. From such withdraw yourself.

Romans 12:18-20
18 If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. 19 Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, Vengeance is Mine, I will repay, says the Lord. 20 Therefore If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.

1 John 4:6
6 We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.

Awww...

Love is so essential and yet open us to so much vulnerabilities.

We need to love in order to be loved.

Hope all I wrote makes it through the phone transmission (it fails sometimes). Love the verses. I like what Paul says in Romans chapter 7 when he says he knows what he should do but sometimes he sees a different law working in the members of his body, when he doesn't do what the law/Lord requires even though he really wants and tries to. In that spot he cries out, "Who can deliver me from this body of death? Thanks be to Jesus Christ!" I find God's requirements like a great example of what ought to be, but that I fall short in the ability to carry it out. But in my humble pile of sorrow & repentance for my inability to love & live as Christ requires of me, He Himself fills me up and lifts me up & does something wonderful through me as I come to know the life of Christ Himself flow through me & He does it and I do it. Then it is not the flesh doing what I do not want but it is Christ doing what He wants to do as He possesses me and I am free. Sorry. Don't know why I'm getting into all this on you but thanks for listening!

Please, there is nothing for you to apologize for! Isn't that what family does, be there for eachother?:-)Thanks for sharing!

Christ was perfect and we are not. But we can strive to be as perfect as we can be and we know: we can do anything through Christ who strengthens us.

God's Grace.
