It's Flu Shot Time

It is that time of year again when you need to get your flu shot. The sooner you do it, the better. That way you will be protected when the flu makes its round and it is already in the process of doing so.

We got ours a few days ago. Those shots normally don't give us any grief, but this year is different. Hubby has been feeling flu-like since the day he received the shot and I am sniffling and have the sense I am coming down with a cold.

We were told this year's shot covers some more and different strains than last year's. I concur that can only be beneficial, but there must have been a strain in this shot we hadn't run into yet. I hope we get over the symptoms soon.

Either way, even though the flu shot may present you with some discomforts, it is always better being safe than sorry. Especially the elderly and those with a low immune system are at risk. You wouldn't believe how many people still pass away from the flu in this day and age.

It is up to you of course, but why would you take the risk? Everyone needs help at one point and why not accept the helping hand when it is offered? God's hand is constantly reaching out to you. Don't wait.

Grab it with both hands!

Psalm 91:1
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

Immune Complex Disease

I suppose we all have heard about auto immune diseases and what that could mean for your physical wellbeing when you end up with one. RA for example is an auto immune disease, but there are many others.

Were you aware of what Immune Complex Diseases are? I wasn't. Well, when antigens and antibodies form clusters and are not removed from the bloodstream, but keep circulating, they can get stuck in body tissue and wreak havoc.

They can instigate inflammations, auto immune diseases, and tissue damage. Immune complex diseases reveal themselves through tissue damage and tissue, blood vessel, nerve, and/or kidney inflammations. These are the most common symptoms and the treatment totally depends on what kind of condition you end up with.

I would give you a list of all possible health issues and treatments, but I think that would be rather discouraging seeing how long it would turn out to be. I rather find encouragement in the fact that for many of them there are cures or treatments available to ease pain and symptoms.

I wish I could give you some more information on this condition, but it is rather complex as the name already indicates. Although we may never have heard of something and may not even know what it is, we can get it.

On the other hand; we all know what faith is. Let's ensure we have it in and give it to God!

Proverbs 2:8
for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones.

Perfect Hands

Hands can tell a lot about a person's health. They didn't have to point that out to me, because I am already fully aware of that. My hands clearly show the signs of severe RA. My fingers have grown outward to a point where I could steal around a corner, as I always jokingly say.

All joking aside though, studies have proven that the length of your fingers is a good indicator when it comes to the revelation whether you could be at risk for some conditions and diseases or not.

Measure your index and your ring finger from the lowest crease starting at the palm of your hand to the tip of your finger and use the following ration: 2D:4D (2=index finger, 4=ring finger).

When your index finger is smaller than your ring finger (lower 2D:4D ratio), you are more likely to end up with knee osteoarthritis. A higher ratio could mean a higher risk for developing prostate or breast cancer.

Swollen fingers are an indicator of a too salty diet or dehydration. In combination with stiffness, you could be dealing with RA, hypothyroidism, low albumen or protein, connective tissue disease, or systemic sclerosis.

In case you experience swollen fingers along with pain and stiffness in their joints, it would be wise to consult an internist or rheumatologist.

It may come down to treating and easing the pain and symptoms. Some of our health issues are still not cureable, but every bit of relief helps.

It is the same with any other issue we encounter during our life. Some problems are solved quick and easy, but to others there may not seem to be a solution. It is best to place those, including yourself, in God's hands.

His hands are perfect!

John 10:29
My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand.

An Ideal Solution

We have become more and more health conscious over the past several decades and that is still an ongoing process. Diet and exercise are highly recommended by our physicians and many have made an effort to incorporate it in their daily routine. We sure don't have to suffer from any deficiency since vitamins and supplements are readily available over the counter.

One would think we ought to be in good shape, but all together that is not really the case. We all have our little indulgences which may undermine our physical health. Some have a sweet tooth, while others enjoy pleasing their taste buds with fatty foods. Weight-wise that will eventually come back to bite you and could result in all kinds of serious conditions.

Another thing, and high on the list of causing severe diseases, is smoking tobacco products. The nicotine in tobacco is not entirely bad for you; it prods your brain to get engaged and even opens up the airways. Yes, it is addictive, but the carcinogens in tobacco however are the main culprit for developing chronic and grave ailments.

Since smoking is an addiction, it is not easy to give up. The nicotine craving and withdrawal symptoms can quickly prod a person to fall back into the old habit of lighting up a cigarette. Been there, done that and even though there are several products on the market to relieve the symptoms and cravings such as nicotine patches and chewing gum, they don't always do the trick.

They may take care of the physical aspect, but they don't address the psychological part of smoking. Holding a cigarette in your hand and the in- and exhalation of smoke somehow seems to have a calming effect which is not achieved by the use of those products. That doesn't mean smokers are sunk; there is light at the end of the tunnel in the form of what is called an electronic cigarette.

It is also referred to as an e-cig and it not only looks like a real cigarette, but acts and feels like one as well. So, then what is the difference between an e-cigarette and the real deal? The electronic one only delivers nicotine and none of all the carcinogens a real cigarette contains. It is a lot cheaper in use and doesn't disperse second-hand smoke. Overall, it is the perfect solution for the fervent smoker.

How it works, the ideal way to switch over, all the available brands and related products, and any other questions which may arise concerning the e-cig are answered by going to Ecigsopedia. On this website you will find all the knowledge and information you need without any prejudice, advertisement, or affiliation. It is clear, concise, and to the point.

The main costs of switching over to the electronic cigarette are mostly going towards the starter kits. Those range in price depending on what you want, need, and/or require.

After that, you are much cheaper off. The e-liquid to refill your e-cigarette is very inexpensive and lasts much longer compared to the pack of regular cigarettes you would normally purchase.

Another benefit is that it is safer too since no lighter or matches are needed. I would recommend you check into it and read up on all about electronic cigarettes and vaping. Even when you already switched over to the e-cigarette it may be helpful to visit the site. You may learn a thing or two and will most certainly be completely up to date on all the options, styles, and designs.

When browsing through the site, you will notice the manufacturers of the e-cigarette have ensured to adhere to all the requirements and desires a person could have.

Even for those who like to take pleasure in smoking a cigar; they are not forgotten. Yes, they too can have their pick, because electronic cigars are also readily available.

It sure looks like they got everything covered to accommodate the smokers among us. Personally, I have used the electronic cigarette for several years now and I am more then satisfied with it. My breathing has improved substantially and the smoker's cough was gone within a week of switching over to the e-cig. After a little while I was no longer huffing, puffing, and gasping for air after the least little bit of exertion.

Some other pleasant side-effects which come with smoking an e-cig is being rid of smelly clothes and the lingering, unpleasant odor of smoke in the house. Spring cleaning is a breeze, because there are no longer any yellow stains that have to be removed. Besides all the benefits it presents to your health and wallet, it saves time too.

If you don't want to give up smoking then the electronic cigarette is the ideal and perfect solution. You ought to try it. You have nothing to loose, but a whole lot to gain. And so will your loved ones and all others around you!

What Are Your Nails Telling You?

Not that long ago I read that your hands can tell you a lot about your health. The next time you clip your nails for instance, you may want to examine them up close and look for discolorations under the nails.

It is said that when you spot a brown or black stripe under the nail of your thumb or big toe, it could be a sign of skin cancer. Autoimmune diseases such as lupus and RA could cause a red discoloration in front or the cuticle. Since I have RA, I checked and did find some red spots.

My Rheumatologist always warns me to keep my extremities warm to avoid Raynaud’s disease (a narrowing of small arteries which can cause tissue damage). This disease is often revealed by pale, white, or blue fingertips.

The way your nails are growing can also be an indicator of an underlying disease. Nails that grow curved like a spoon could mean you may have an iron deficiency and when they curve down immediately at the end of your fingers, this might be a sign of a lung disease.

Should you notice any of the above then it is recommended to see a physician and have it checked out. There is more your hands can tell you about your health and I will get around to that soon.

In the mean time, don't forget to grab God's Hand. It is perfect and always reaching out to you!

Isaiah 41:13
For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, Saying to you, 'Fear not, I will help you.'

Those Few Extra Steps

If you are a frequent reader of my blog you already know that consuming dark chocolate (in moderation of course) is accredited with many health benefits.

A recent study has shown that it has another benefit. For those who suffer from PAD (Peripheral Artery Disease) there is good news: it enables you to walk a little farther and a little longer.

PAD is a rather common disease among the elderly and can cause painful legs and cramps during walking. People who have PAD are also at a higher risk of being afflicted by heart attacks and strokes.

It is suspected that the polyphenols in dark chocolate have the ability to increase blood flow to the legs. They expand the blood vessels and the effects are noticeable a few hours after eating dark chocolate.

There are a few negative aspects to it though. First of all, the increased time and distance you would be able to walk more are ever so slightly. Secondly, it adds more calories to your diet which you won't walk off.

The study is still in a very early stage and it seems like the disadvantages outweigh the benefits. It is advised to change your lifestyle and diet and resort to exercising to improve PAD.

That may not always be easy or feasible. Being able to go those few extra steps are sometimes just what is needed. Literally and figuratively speaking!

Matthew 5:41
And whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two.

Practicing Patience

It has been a while since I posted, but there are times when either nothing is happening or everything seems to happen all at once. The past couple of weeks can definitely be filed away under the last category.

Out of the blue, I am confronted with a muscle spasm and my back goes out. It took several days to recover and I had barely resumed my daily chores when the grandchildren arrived. They will be staying during the month of July and most of their time is spent at our abode.

I have no problem taking care of them and seeing to their needs. It wears me out physically, but that is nothing a good night's rest won't cure. It is the mental and emotional exhaustion that sets in after several days.

It is not easy trying to compromise and solve problems to everyone's satisfaction. With having to watch three of those rascals it takes all the eyes and hands available and thankfully hubby's and oldest daughter's are. I wouldn't know what to do without them helping to lift the load.

We enjoy the kids, but the only thing I could use more of is patience. After a while I feel it wearing thin and I have to remind myself that I not only lead by example, but am one too. It is at those times I heavily rely on God to give me what is needed.

And He does! :-)

But in all things we commend ourselves as ministers of God: in much patience, in tribulations, in needs, in distresses,

Questions And More Questions

We tend to run into things which are beyond comprehension. I had one of those moments not too long ago after a check-up with my rheumatologist. A tendon in my arm was giving me some problems and she decided to take x-rays of my hands and wrists to ensure I hadn't accidentally broken anything.

A few days later the nurse called me with the results. It so turns out that the RA had severely progressed in both hands and wrists over the course of several years. That came as a not so pleasant surprise to me and I didn't, and still don't, understand what happened.

First of all; it doesn't bother me one bit. I go about my business of the day without any pain or problems. That is a good thing of course, but shouldn't I have noticed that my bones had slowly but surely deteriorated more and more?

The second thing that puzzles me is the working of my medication. The Humira I am taking is supposed to stop the RA from progressing. It apparently didn't, which leaves me with more questions than answers.

Do you want to know the weirdest part of it all? Why is all this crossing my mind several weeks later? I know I have been extremely busy and preoccupied lately and I guess I just hadn't taken the time to let it sink in and ponder on it.

Well, the stupidest question is the one that is not asked. I will therefore write them down and ask them the next time I see my rheumatologist. I hope she can provide me with answers and if not, then I will simply trust God.

He will not put more on us than we can bear!

Mark 11:22
So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God.

The Choice

The little birds, whose parents made their nest in the wreath on our front door, were growing really well. The oldest one had already gotten strong and bold enough to take a look at the world around it.

Sitting on the edge of the nest, it got a good perspective. It didn't budge when I came around and took some pictures, while its sibling was safely tucked away in the back.

Well, it didn't turn out to be as safe as they had anticipated.

There was a scraping sound in the middle of the night. Upon investigation the next morning we found the wreath on the ground. The nest was torn out of it and all that was left of the youngsters were a few, tiny feathers.

We have a great suspicion that the cat we saw scooting by our house a few days earlier treated itself to an easy meal. Poor little critters, but that is nature and there is nothing we can do about it, at least not about that kind of nature.

We can do something about ours though, because we have a choice. We can choose to serve and cater to our sinful nature or to turn away from it and follow in Jesus' footsteps.

Let's choose wisely!

Acts 14:15
and saying, “Men, why are you doing these things? We also are men with the same nature as you, and preach to you that you should turn from these useless things to the living God, who made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and all things that are in them,

No Small Potatoes

Potatoes have been a staple food for thousands of years. That doesn't come as a surprise, because they are highly nutritious, easy to digest, and boost our energy. They are also high in vitamin B3, vitamin B6, potassium, copper, vitamin C, manganese, phosphorus, fiber, and pantothenic acid.

Due to the antioxidants they contain, potatoes are an excellent food keeping your heart healthy.

The potato skin possesses the ability to absorb toxins which otherwise would remain in our system and could cause cancer in the future.

For our brain to function properly it depends on certain nutrients such as glucose, magnesium, vitamin B, amino and fatty acids, which are all found in potatoes.

Inflammations, in- as well as external, are quickly relieved due to the health properties provided by this staple. It therefore would be helpful eating a few more spuds when you experience a (rheumatoid) arthritis flare-up.

As we grow older and the signs of aging are starting to dull, discolor, and grace our appearance with wrinkles, potatoes can clear it up. Mix crushed raw potatoes with honey. Apply this mixture to the skin and it will take care of those nooks, crannies, and other blemishes caused by aging.

Keep in mind the health benefits concern plain, boiled potatoes and not the fries, the chips, and the butter or sour cream drenched baked ones, because those do more harm than good.

It seems like we are becoming more obsessed these days with what we consume. That is not bad, because not everything is healthy for us. We should keep in mind though that there is more to life than just the food on our table and we should remember that when we say grace.

There is a whole lot more to be thankful for!

Romans 14:17
for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

New Residents

We couldn't believe the birds decided to pick the wreath on our front door as their place of residence. A few weeks ago we thought they might find another spot to nest, seeing how our front door would open regularly and scare them away, but they didn't.

A sturdy nest was built quickly, five eggs were laid, and within no time two little baby birds are presently crowding the nest and filling our living room with as much racket as they can as soon as mom or dad arrives with some grub.

It must have seemed the ideal spot for the parents to raise a family. They may not have considered the dangers involved and once they became aware of it, it may have been too late. They must have trusted in God to provide for them and fill their needs. And He did.

We try to disturb them as little as possible and when we have to open and close the door, we do it as gently as we can. In exchange, they allow us to take a peek in the nest and check on the growth of the little ones. It works out well for all.

We may not always make the right choices and/or see the dangers, but God can rectify that situation in an instant and make it work for everyone. It does require some action on our part; love, hope, and faith!

Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, leading to edification.

Eggs: Healthy And Nutritious

I have been watching our egg-intake for years now. This was mainly based upon previous study results and warnings. Those warned us that consuming too many eggs (the yolk in particular) contributed to clogging of the arteries and hence could cause heart problems.

It always seemed strange to me that mainly the yolk would do that to a person since it has got all the building blocks for new life in it such as vitamins and minerals. I am no researcher though and I, along with the majority, believed what I was told and eggs were rationed.

It is good to know we don't have to shun them anymore. It has been scientifically proven that the egg yolks do contain everything our bodies need.

It actually has been shown that there are nutrients inside that calcium-rich shell which can even lower the risk of heart disease. The only thing an egg seems to be missing is vitamin C.

I am glad we can safely indulge in eggs again. They make many dishes taste so much better. I love hard-boiled eggs, especially with a pinch of salt. Don't worry; I don't use regular salt. I found a substitute that tastes exactly like it and can be used as salt in every dish.

Even though an egg is often seen as a symbol for life, let's not forget it was God who gave us life!

Job 6:6
Can flavorless food be eaten without salt? Or is there any taste in the white of an egg?

A Place To Call Home

Our sweet dog Flo managed to pull down the window box, hanging on our storage building, on several occasions. It is filled with artificial plants, but it looked gorgeous and gave the building a little pizzazz. She may have liked it too, tried to gather up a bouquet, and ended up scattering it all over the yard.

I managed to save much of it and it still looks very pretty. I am apparently not the only one who thinks so. About two weeks ago, I noticed a couple of tiny birds flying to and fro the planter. Thinking they were picking nesting materials out of it, I went to investigate.

Low and behold; they were not taking nesting materials out, but bringing it in and their abode was slowly but surely taking shape.

I decided to keep an eye on it, in case our dog had the urge to satisfy her curiosity. Flo didn't mess with it and a couple of days ago we discovered at least two, possibly three eggs in it.

When you click on the picture, you will get a better look at the future offspring this little couple is about to bring up.

Wondering what birds had picked our window box as their residence, I scoured the Internet and found out they were House Wrens.

Another pair of birds started building a nest in the wreath of our front door. After it opened, they understood that was not the best place to settle down.

They left to find another spot they could call home and I am sure they will have no problems with that.

God provides all they need, just like He does for us!

Matthew 6:26
Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?

The Benefits Of Dark Chocolate

I sure hope y'all had a wonderful and very blessed Easter!

It is the Holiday where we celebrate the rising of our Lord Jesus Christ, but all too often it is associated with colored eggs, Easter egg hunts, and the permission to indulge in a smorgasbord of chocolate.

Being a chocoholic, I am by no means opposed to the last. It is even considered healthy to eat 10 to 20 grams of dark chocolate per day, due to its health benefits.

The advantages of consuming dark chocolate are more than meet the eye. It is said to reduce blood pressure, decrease cholesterol levels and the risk of heart disease and strokes.

Dark chocolate is even supposed to be a great aid where weight loss is concerned, because it increases energy, widens the blood vessels, and stimulates the muscles.

It also assists in burning fat and lowers the appetite. We won't be hungry and most certainly be in a good mood, because dark chocolate is also an excellent anti-depressant.

Unfortunately, I don't care for the dark chocolate. I love milk chocolate and the cocoa content of that is way too low to give me all those benefits. It is chockfull of sugars, oils, and other added ingredients and that defeats the purpose.

The best chocolate is the one which contains between 70 to 85% of cocoa. So, if you decide to eat some more of these goodies, be sure to check the cocoa contents before you purchase it.

All good and well, but let's remember and celebrate what Easter really is all about!

Romans 8:34
Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.

Ouch

I am not sure how it happened or what I did, but I must have pulled a tendon in my right arm. Each time I lift something it hurts pretty badly. When I make a sudden or wrong move, the pain is immobilizing. This has been going on for several weeks now and it wasn't getting any better.

I saw my rheumatologist last week and told her about it. Her advice was wearing a splint and she had some blood work done and x-rays taken, but there were neither any inflammations nor fractures found. That was a good sign. It didn't show or solve the problem though.

What it did show on the x-rays was that my RA had progressed severely since 2003 and she recommended seeing a hand and wrist specialist. I am having mixed feelings about that. My hands and wrists don't bother me at all and I suspect all he will do is suggesting surgery.

I can already tell you right now that would be a big NO on my part. Surgery would be the last resort and I would only agree to that when my hands or wrists would be hurting constantly and/or severely limit my mobility.

The splint is helping a little and I did make an appointment with the specialist, but only with the hope he can do something about my ailing tendon or tell me what to do or not to do. In the mean time I am taking it easy and decided to give it to God and not to worry about it.

He knows best!

Matthew 6:34
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Steak At Stake?

People are considered to be omnivores. What that means is that they are no picky eaters and like to consume meat, as well as fish, vegetables, nuts, and fruits.

I truly enjoy a tasty steak, pork chop, piece of chicken, burger, etc. Without it, my meal is not complete.

I sure wouldn't make a good vegetarian and that is probably why that life-style never appealed to me. There are a lot of advantages to being a vegetarian though; it is said cutting out meat entirely from your diet will drastically lower the risk of heart disease and cancer.

It all depends on what kind of meat you consume. There is no doubt that fatty cuts raise the dangers of ending up with the above mentioned illnesses. That doesn't mean you have to abstain from meat all together.

The recommendations are to choose grass-fed beef over any other kind, because it is lower in fat and the fat it contains is the good kind. It is also richer in omega 3s.

Should you decide to cut meat out of your daily diet, ensure to bring variety to the table. You need your proteins, vitamins and minerals and it would be easy to end up with a deficiency.

As I mentioned before, I appreciate a good cut of meat on my plate. God said we could eat it and as far as I am concerned; I trust Him. I know He only has our best in mind!

Deuteronomy 12:15
"However, you may slaughter and eat meat within all your gates, whatever your heart desires, according to the blessing of the Lord your God which He has given you; the unclean and the clean may eat of it, of the gazelle and the deer alike.

Words And Actions

We go by the following guidelines; always do what you know is best, don't do what you know is wrong, and if you have no clue as what to do then don't do anything.

The latter may seem the most difficult since it requires patience, but it has occurred more often than not that the first two are the hardest. We all may have a different concept as to what is best, but that is what communication is for.

When someone is about to do something several road bumps and pitfalls may be overlooked. Talking to others may bring those to light and could be a reason for changing the plans.

The tendency is there however to cater to feelings instead of logic. Although the person in question may see and even agree that his/her perception was flawed and not entirely thought through, they may choose to do it anyway.

I have no problems with that. Everyone is entitled to make their own choices. What I do have a problem with is them admitting their plan is not best, saying they will do something else instead, and as soon as they turn their back they carry out their initial plan anyway.

That is not only a waste of time, effort and energy of those who tried to help, but it also makes that particular person unreliable and untrustworthy. Let alone, all the grief it may cause them and others which could have been avoided had they stuck to their word.

There is nothing we can do about that. Only they can. It is a matter of choice, commitment and determination. A person is as good as their word, or rather their actions. Those speak louder than words.

I am grateful we can rely on, have faith in and trust on God and His word. Where would we be if we couldn't?!

Numbers 30:2
If a man makes a vow to the Lord, or swears an oath to bind himself by some agreement, he shall not break his word; he shall do according to all that proceeds out of his mouth.

Go Nuts

You can never punish me by serving nuts, because I love almost any kind. The only ones I came across which I am not too crazy about are the pistachios, but that is all a matter of taste.

Not too long ago these tasty treats were on the taboo list. It was believed they contained too much fat.

They do, but it turned out to be the good kind of fat and that changed everything. Nuts are now labeled as extremely healthy.

It is recommended to consume a handful (about 1 ounce) daily since they are packed with anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals, proteins and fiber.

They lower the risk of heart disease, decrease diabetes and inflammation, increase the health of the lining of arteries, and have a positive effect on brain, weight, and immune system.

As long as you stick to the recommended daily amount, you are literally and figuratively speaking in good shape. Excessive consumption is not beneficial; it will result in you packing on the pounds, because nuts are also high in calories.

In case you are not very keen on nuts, you can resort to different kinds of seeds such as flax, pumpkin, and sunflower seeds for instance. They have the same healthy benefits as nuts. Just make sure that both nuts and seeds are unsalted and free of any oils.

No matter how healthy we are physically, it doesn't do much good when we are spiritually in a bad shape. It would be wise taking in our daily dose of God's word and you are not limited to a certain amount either.

You can never get enough!

Proverbs 4:22
For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.

The Green Light

I am writing this post while sipping on a cup of coffee. It is the first cup of the day and it tastes delicious. It sure gets my brain in gear and my blood pumping. Another plus is that it takes care of any remnants of sleep-induced sluggishness.

It wasn't that long ago when drinking a cup of java was met by a doctor wagging his/her finger in your face.

Coffee had the reputation of promoting heart disease, increasing blood pressure levels and anxiety. We already were aware that anything with 'too' in front of it usually is not good.

Consuming too much of this dark brown liquid can have a negative effect on your blood pressure and drinking it late in the evening can keep you up at night, but a few cups of coffee daily could benefit your health greatly.

Recent studies have shown that coffee reduces heart, liver, and Parkinson's disease. It is recommended to use a paper filter when brewing a cup. According to what I read, this gets rid of what is called cafestol which supposedly increases bad cholesterol.

Coffee also has a positive effect on diabetes and athletic performance and lowers the risk for dementia. It is also said to make you smarter, burn fat, and make you live longer.

It can't hurt to add a few years to our lives, although they will fly by faster than we like. That's okay, because after having spent our time on this earth we can enjoy eternal life to the fullest!

John 17:3
And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

Let Go

I know God has a way of working things out and I am also aware He works in mysterious ways. God only has our best in mind and that has been proven once again when His will came to fruition this past week.

We were never happy with our grandchildren going with their father all the way to Kansas and later on to upper Alabama. We had great concerns for our oldest grandson and rightfully so; he missed his mom, us, his friends, and everything that was familiar in his little life.

Each time we talked to him and he had to get of the phone or when they came over and he had to leave again, he fell silent and we could sense his sadness and disappointment. Lately, he has not been doing well at school and talked about his mom and us every day.

We felt sorry for our little man, but there was nothing we could do about it. God could and He did. Out of the blue, we got a call last week from our grandson's dad telling us that he was letting Kc come back to his mom.

Since his mom is extremely busy with her job, he will be in our care quite often. It will be an adjustment for everyone involved, but we all agreed and think it is in everyone's best interest.

Yes, God has ways of working things out. We don't need to try and force things along. All we need to do is have faith and patience and everything will fall in place.

In other words: Let go and let God!

Deuteronomy 32:4
He is the Rock, His work is perfect; For all His ways are justice, A God of truth and without injustice; Righteous and upright is He.
